Creature Name: War Wasp
Height: 1.2 Meters
Weight: 17 kg
Homeworlds: Tallon IV, Aether, and Alinds

The War Wasp is a common predator found throughout the Universe. The War Wasp has evolved potent venom, which it sometimes uses for defense. The creatures’ large stinger is the only thing that keeps it protected because the creatures’ shell and inner body are soft. It has our wings to keep its body stabilized in high altitude, windy conditions. On Tallon IV the War Wasps have learned to stay away from Phazon. The Chozo did co-exist with these creatures though it was not a predator prey relationship. It is said the War Wasps are a relative of the Chykka on Aether. The War Wasps have evolved to many different climates.

The War Wasp wanders from its nest daily to get prey for itself and Queen. The War Wasp uses its venom to subdue prey than use its powerful mandibles to eat all of its prey. The War Wasp has a potent neurotoxin, which works by shutting down the nervous system. Soon the diaphragm of the prey stops moving and in 1-10 minutes the prey is dead. The Wasps stinger can't pierce through metal. The Wasps do all other activities inside the nest. The central queen lays the eggs and the others take care of them until they hatch. They sleep inside the nest as well taking turns for guarding.

If a creature gets too close to the nest structure all the soldiers on guard will rush out of the nest to defend spraying pheromones that alert all the others on guard that there's an intruder. If the prey is strange and unrecognizable by the Wasps they will ram their heads into it. If the creature seems weak they will sting. If it isn't others will ram the opposition. There can be upwards of 50,000 wasps per hive. The War Wasp is a growing pest among Galactic Civilizations, eating meat and crops.

Airborne insect equipped with a venomous stinger capable of shearing steel. Target can fire blasts of energy at foes. The War Wasp rarely strays far from its hive unless it is pursuing an immediate threat. It attacks with no regard for its own survival, dive-bombing its enemy with stinger extended. Fast-working toxins from the stinger can incapacitate most small organisms. If it battles foes at range, it will fire bursts of potent energy.
